The Grounds Supervisor will oversee and manage the High Point Open Space Association grounds maintenance activities including but not limited to tree, turf, shrub bed care, irrigation system and special projects as assigned. This is a "hands-on" position which will routinely perform many of the specific duties outlined below.

Landscape Knowledge

• Have extensive experience in landscape maintenance and shall have adequate knowledge of ornamental horticulture, arbor care and integrated pest management.
• Adhere to Natural Lawn Care standards and practices within the community.
• Oversee and implement High Point OSA maintenance plan for pruning, staking of trees, weed control, insect and disease control, fertilization, replacement of plants, fall clean-up of fallen leaves, seeding, mulching and community trash pick-up.
• Oversee and maintain irrigation operation, inspection, and repairs. Proficiency with Rainbird Maxicom system desired but not necessary.
• Verify that natural drainage system and storm water retention pond infrastructure is maintained in accordance with High Point Community Landscape Guidelines and relevant State guidelines (training provided).

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversee and demonstrate use of proper techniques and approved methods in the care of trees and shrubs, ground cover, lawns, mulch mowing and plants by all contract/non-contract landscape staff.
• Establish and implement training schedule and goals for all High Point OSA landscape staff in the areas of landscape maintenance, irrigation system, use of any power equipment/tools and landscape care products. Report results to Community Association Manager quarterly.
• Establish and implement training schedule and goals for all High Point OSA landscape staff in technical and safety procedures in the use of tools and equipment, power equipment and motor vehicles. Report results to Community Association Manager quarterly.
• Maintain and purchase necessary equipment and supplies for inventory; establish specifications for new equipment and materials; assess future needs.
• Oversee the care and maintenance of vehicles and equipment and keep current tracking log of all items.
• Maintain appearance and organization of OSA Maintenance Facilities and work space.
• Conduct periodic performance evaluations of Landscape Maintenance Assistants and recommend coaching or corrective action plans as necessary.



Licenses and Other Requirements
• Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and fully insurable driving record.
• State of Washington First Aid Certificate or obtain one within ninety days after appointment to position
• Possess and maintain a State of Washington Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or obtain.
